1. Overview
This policy explains how GĒN THEORY, Inc. (we, us) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit the GĒN THEORY website or buy our products, and the choices and rights you have. Questions any time: [email protected].
2. Information you provide to us
Waitlist: your email address when you join.
Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
Orders: when you buy from us, our checkout provider collects your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, and payment details on our behalf. Full payment card numbers go only to our payment processors — they never reach our systems.
Reviews: if you leave a product review through our review platform, the content of your review, your name or alias, and your order verification.
Correspondence: anything you send us by email.
3. Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security infrastructure generates standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — used to operate and protect the site.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and interaction events, and it sets cookies to recognize returning browsers. We use this data in aggregate to improve the site; we do not use it for advertising. You can opt out at any time through your browser's cookie settings.
The site stores small amounts of data in your browser's local storage to support features such as your shopping cart and site preferences. That data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Some pages also embed content hosted by third parties — such as preview images of the published research we link to — and those third parties receive standard web-request information, such as your IP address, when your browser loads that content.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to: provide the site and fulfil orders, including shipping, receipts, and customer support; manage subscriptions, renewals, and our money-back guarantee; send marketing emails you have signed up for; respond to your messages; operate, secure, and improve the site; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
6. Email marketing and your choices
We send marketing emails only to people who have signed up. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. We may still send non-marketing service emails — such as order confirmations, shipping updates, subscription renewal notices, and replies to your messages.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, marketing emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and order records for as long as accounting, tax, guarantee, and other legal obligations require. We may also retain information as reasonably necessary to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, resolve disputes, and establish or defend legal claims. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
9. Security
We protect personal information with encryption in transit, reputable infrastructure providers, and access controls that limit who can view what you submit. Payment card details are collected and processed only by PCI-compliant payment processors and never touch our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take measures appropriate to the risk and will comply with applicable breach-notification laws.
10. Your US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to: know and access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; receive a portable copy; and opt out of sale, sharing for targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide our services.
To exercise any right, email [email protected] with your request. We will verify your identity (for example, by confirming control of the email address on file), respond within the time required by your state's law, and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. As permitted by law, we may decline requests that we cannot verify, or that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, and we will explain the reason when we do. Deletion requests do not extend to records we are required or permitted to keep — such as those needed for fraud prevention, guarantees, or legal compliance. Where your state allows, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
11. Visitors outside the United States
Our site is operated from the United States and information is processed on US-based services. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-protection laws, we process your personal data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (orders and subscriptions), consent (marketing emails), and our legitimate interests (operating and securing the site). You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise them, email us.
12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We use analytics for first-party site measurement only — we do not track visitors across other websites, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is therefore no ad tracking for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, and we treat such signals as consistent with how the site already operates. To decline analytics measurement as well, use your browser's cookie controls.
13. Children
This site and our products are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision, and material changes will be flagged on this page or announced by email to subscribers.
